Joel Leahy started Advantage Steam in 1998.  He lives with his wife and two children in Placer County.  Joel is a racing enthusiast and a devoted father.  When not running his carpet cleaning business you will find him motocross riding or enjoying quality family time.

At sixteen years old, Joel Leahy was working for a close friend who owned a local landscaping company.  It was then that Joel realized he wanted to be self-employed.  He continued working as a landscaper for three years looking up to his friend celebrating his successes and taking note of his mistakes.  To gain more experience Joel made the decision to part ways from his mentor and took a job working for a general contractor.  Joel gained knowledge and work experience in fire and flood damaged homes.  In addition, he began fabricating granite and marble.  While working in the construction industry Joel quickly realized the need for a quality environmentally safe carpet cleaning company.  At twenty-one Joel felt like he had enough knowledge and work experience to start his own company.  After completing multiple courses and certifications, Advantage Steam was born and opened for business on November of 1998.
